MISSION STATEMENT BY SHADOW
This campus has been designed to help rehabilitate the seriously traumatized war veteran. We will cater to the most immediate needs of the veteran. Real life immediate needs. Teach him or her how to fix their car so they can transport themselves to where they need to be, to find work, and to aquire counciling on such things as: Anger management, marriage, kids, work, coping with stress, and most anything else they may need, the list goes on and on. There will be work in the camp for those able, making firewood, working in the wood shop, helping build the camp, educating others on their specialties, trail-blazing, working with the local farmers, working in the greenhouses, or helping with the small
sawmill well have.
Veterans volunteering time on the camp will earn points for free time on the land for the solitude or whatever they may need free time for. This camp must be kept small,
for personal service, or I dont think it will work. To begin only eight to ten veterans at a time.
Because of the veterans major mistrust for his government this project must be privately funded, or we wont have any clients. There is no place for the veteran to go
for these services. The trust factor is heavy indeed for these brave men.
You see, you must study up on the PTSD phenomenon to even get a glimpse of what were up against. Most of us cant work because of our hatred for the
bullshit. We somehow draw that from employers and we slip a cog. Those that cant control that knee-jerk reaction are the ones you read about in the papers. Many of my brothers need major help to keep that from happening. Im lucky in that Ive not had to pay for mine, but now Im going to, through this camp. Twice as many brothers have lost their lives through suicide than the war took. Thats over 100 thousand souls. How large is a football stadium.............? (Shadow)
The main healing factor is our Shaman, Fawn Jouneyhawk. This Native American Shaman is using techniques perfected through hundreds of year of use. Fawn is a Mandan and Shawnee Native American, and draws entirely from the Creator Himself. I myself have seen the incredible things that happen in our lodges. Physical healing that can have no other explanation, other than divine intervention. I am not a God freak, I am not a fanatic! I have seen the healing with my own eyes, I have felt it within my own body. I believe when theres not much to believe in these days. I trust Fawns work. (Shadow)

Wounded Warrior Restoration and Research
Mission Statement
Wounded Warrior, in cooperation with Saybrook Institute in San Francisco, proposes to establish a veterans rehabilitation retreat for the reclamation and restoration of Wounded Warriors, utilizing the established techniques of Fawn Journeyhawk Bender, Native American Shaman. Wounded Warrior will conduct a study of Fawns use of ancient methods of the Native American Warrior Medicine Society, (used for centuries among warring tribes to restore the mental as well as the physical state of the warrior). All documentation acquired from this study will be forwarded to Saybrook Institute for compilation. The retreat will be staffed by certified councilors from veteran centers of southern Oregon and Northern California. Other staff members will include: The director, Assistant Director, a physician, an on-call nurse, Chaplain, Nutritionist, Security, and various clerical staff. All the therapies and treatments will fall under the direction of Fawn Journeyhawk Bender. Shadow Nick has been appointed by Wounded Warrior as the Veteran Liason Coordinator for the proposed retreat and it establishment and operation. It is our intention to petition charitable organizations, churches, and private individuals for assistance in aquiring the necessary land, materials, equipment, and furnishings. This facility will require mountain acreage in a fairly private location. We will base all land use on sound forest practices with emphasis on multi-use and environmental diversity. Seclusion and running water, and a southern exposure are needed. Structures that harmonize with the surrounding environment will be constructed to house staff, security, therapudic facilities, and administration. They will meet the special requirements of the disabled and will employ solar and other alternative energy resourse systems. Greenhousing and other various composting techniques will be tersted with the intention of producing enough for the camps needs. The wounded who come to use may even be employed by us in that greenhouse and other places on the land (making it critical that we own our own land). They will learn how to do it for themselves, to make their own employment, another goal of this camp. This is a place for the veteran to get his life in order, in addition to providing opportunity in a cooperative, team setting, with both productive forestry and recreational activities available. We will serve veterans suffering from PTSD, homelessness, voilence, the disabled, and the women from all serveces. We need input and contributors to help us get it together. To date we have gathered the majority of the staff and have sereral veterans on stand-by to be admitted as soon as land becomes available. Temporary structures will be used until materials are provided and construction can begin on the permanent structures
